The File is a volume containing various copies of the newspaper The Hindoo Patriot.
Extent and format of original material: One bound volume with 314 folio.
Physical characteristics: Index is not paginated. Then pages 1 to 8, 1 to 6, 9 to 108, 1 to 2, 1 to 4, 109 to 120, 3 to 4, 121 to 132, 5 to 6, 133 to 318, 323 to 366, 371 to 612. The rest of the pages are pasted. The pages are very brittle, torn, acidic, dry, fragile, moth-eaten, dusty and quite damaged. The spine as well as both covers are detached. Marks resulting from fungal infestation, foxing and exposure to moisture are visible. Pages 149 to 152 have been bound upside down. Some page numbers have been erroneously printed. There is writing in pencil on some pages. The pasted pages could not be photographed. Measurements (in cm): 42. 5 x 28 x 5 (with cover), 42 x 27. 5 x 4. 5 (without cover).
