The File is a volume containing various copies of the newspaper The Hindoo Patriot.
Extent and format of original material: One bound volume with 490 folio 1 leaf.
Physical characteristics: Pages 7 to 8, 11 to 12, 1 to 8, 19 to 34, 1 to 8, 47 to 94, 85 to 608. Monthly supplements, such as the ones on pages 1 to 4 and 1 to 8 often occur throughout the volume. Pagination is irregular. The volume starts from page 7. There is writing in Bengali on some pages. A leaflet is also present. The pages are moth-eaten, acidic, yellowed, dry, fragile and quite damaged. There are marks resulting from fungal infestation and exposure to moisture. The print is faded. Text is lost due to the nature of binding. The spine is missing. Measurements (in cm): 43 x 27 x 6. 8 (with cover), 41. 8 x 26. 9 x 5. 4 (without cover).
