The file is a hand written manuscript regarding a brief introduction about the establishment of the city of Calcutta and various petitions from Hindu inhabitants to the President and Council of Fort William.
Extent and format of original material: A handwritten notebook of 30 folio.
Physical characteristics: The pages are moth-eaten, yellowed, acidic and very brittle. Edges torn. Marks of foxing, fungal infestation, reverse impressions, patches of colour and rust marks are visible. Item was probably exposed to moist conditions. Fold marks were present. Pages are extremely brittle. Pencil writing is visible. Dimensions: 34. 2x20. 7x0. 3.
