- Scope & Content:
- List of payments for the crown-tax made by holders or former holders of municipal offices or by their relatives for the year 197/8. The payments are recorded chronologically, from 26 Pachon (21 May) to 13 Hathyr (9 November). The amounts paid vary, the minimum being 6 drachmas and the maximum 800 drachmas. Some of the individuals made more than one payment. After the heading, the list is arranged by month and day, followed by the name of the tax-payer and the amount paid. Column 1 of Papyrus 1939 records the totals of the payments made by the same individuals.

- Medium-brown papyrus sheet, complete and well preserved; written on one side along the fibres, the back being blank. The front bears two columns of 32 and 17 lines respectively, all complete. In the lower margin there is a number, written after a blank of 75 mm; a speck of ink is visible in the lower right edge. Margins are extant; a sheet-join runs vertically. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.
