Orme concludes with the following estimate of Sevaji: “Whensoever we shall obtain a history of his life written in his own country, he will doubtless appear to have possessed the highest resources of stratagem joined to undaunted courage, which although equal to the encounter of any danger always preferred to surmount it by circumvention, which if unpracticable no arm exceeded his in open daring."

Orme incorporated this account of Sivaji in his Historical Fragments of the Mogul Empire, 1785, which work contains maps of India, which are for certain purposes more useful than any of those contained in his History or to be found in this Collection.
- 4, pp. 49-234. Draft of the 14th book of Orme's History. Original. A note in Orme's handwriting is prefixed as follows:- " The books of my bound Manuscripts necessary to compose the 14th book of my history are volumes 8, 23, 24 in quarto, volume 41 in folio, volume 61 large in quarto, and the two books in folio Manuscripts bound in calf, lettered MSS. Vol. I. and II." (The two last-mentioned volumes are Nos. 216 and 217.) Another copy of a draft for this volume will be found in 296. 1 above, others in 329 1.
