- Dioscorus alias Castor, son of Cronion and Apollonarion, acknowledges receipt of 401 silver drachmas and 2 obols from Heraclides, son of Maron, his uncle; the sum is one third of what was still owed by Heraclides to Apollonarion’s sons out of 2000 silver drachmas, bequeathed to Apollonarion by Apollonarion's mother Thaubarion. With subscriptions of Dioscorus and Heraclides and official docket at the end, and summary on the back. Papyrus 1957 (P.Tebt.Fam. 10) is another receipt issued by Dioscorus’ brother, who was paid the same sum few years later.

- Papyrus sheet, broken off at the top, lacking the upper left corner and damaged by insect holes throughout; bearing writing on both sides. On the front, there are 25 lines written along the fibres; 4 lines are lost at the top. Part of the left margin survives; no blank space was left on the right. The back bears two lines written along the fibres at the top right. Folding lines are still visible. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.
