- Scope & Content:
- Castor, son of Cronion and Apollonarion, aged 22, acknowledges receipt of 401 silver drachmas and 2 obols from Heraclides, son of Maron, his uncle; the sum is one third of what was still owed by Heraclides to Apollonarion’s sons out of 2000 silver drachmas, bequeathed to Apollonarion by her mother Thaubarion. With subscriptions of Castor and Heraclides and official docket of the record-office at the end. Papyrus 1951 (P.Tebt.Fam. 7) is another receipt issued by Castor’s brother, who was paid the same sum few years earlier.

- Papyrus sheet, medium-brown, broken off at the bottom and mutilated on the left, complete at the top and right; with insect-holes throughout; written on one side along the fibres, the back being blank. On the front, there are 39 lines, the majority of which lack few letters at the beginning; lines 38-39 are very fragmentary; one additional line is lost at the bottom. The upper margin is extant and ample; no margin was left on the right. Vertical folds are still visible. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.
