Documents concerning a dispute between Lysimachus alias Didymus, son of Heraclides, and Serenus, guardian of the heirs of Dius, son of Chaeremon, who had died without paying back a loan of 240 drachmas bearing interest.
Column 1: Letter of Artemidorus, nomarch of Antinoopolis, to Damarion, strategus of the divisions of Themistes and Polemon in the Arsinoite nome, enclosing the copy of the petition sent to him by Lysimachus alias Didymus, son of Heraclides, so that Damarion may send up Serenus for trial. With address on the back.
Column 2: Petition to Artemidorus from Lysimachus alias Didymus, pasted onto the letter of Artemidorus to Damarion, enclosing another petition he had sent to the epistrategus Vettius Turbo explaining the problem and asking that Serenus be summoned. With subscriptions at the end.

- One papyrus made of two sheets of varying height pasted together, medium-dark brown; the left sheet is broken off at the top and lacks the lower left corner; the right sheet is complete and well preserved. Few insect-holes are visible in places. The writing is on both sides along the fibres. On the front there are two columns of 18 lines and 39 lines respectively; the first column is damaged in places; the second is complete. A sheet-join runs at 170 mm from the left-hand edge. The back hosts one line lacking the end, written at the top on the back of what is the left-hand sheet. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Materials: Papyrus.
Dimensions: 307 x 314 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 345 x 360 mm.
Script: Column 1: Skilled, graceful hand, thin and sloping to the right; lines 13-14: Clumsy and irregular hand; line 14-end: thin and rapid sloping cursive for the date. Column 2: Thin, somewhat regular hand, with a slant to the right, more cursive in places; different hand for the subscription at the end.

Provenance: Tebtynis, meris of Polemon, Arsinoite nome, Egypt (?). Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1873-2016 from Ali Abd-el-Haj on 15 May 1911.
