- Scope & Content:
- Herakleia alias Arsinoe, through her father Herakleides alias Didymos, acknowledges receipt of the alimony and clothing for her son Iulius alias Herodes from Philosarapis son of Lysimachos, guardian of the minor. The name of Geta was erased from the dating clause. Papyri 1877 and 1950 are other receipts for the alimony of Iulius alias Herodes, written in the same hand.

- Upper portion of a papyrus, with surface damage in places; written on one side along the fibres, the back being blank. On the front, there is the top of a column of which 19 lines survive, the last being very fragmentary. Upper and left margins are extant; no space was left on the right. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Materials: Papyrus.
Dimensions: 140 x 130 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 195 x 180 mm.
Script: Skilled, but somewhat inelegant cursive hand, same as Papyrus 1877 and Papyrus 1950. The beginning of line 15 was erased.

Origin: Arsinoite nome, Egypt.
Provenance: Tebtynis, meris of Polemon, Arsinoite nome, Egypt (?). Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1873-2016 from Ali Abd-el-Haj on 15 May 1911.
