- Herakleia alias Arsinoe, through her father Herakleides alias Didymos, acknowledges that she has received the alimony and clothing for her son Iulius alias Herodes from Philosarapis son of Lysimachos, guardian of the minor. Papyri 1877 and 1878 are other receipts for the alimony of Iulius alias Herodes, written in the same hand.

- Papyrus sheet, medium-brown, damaged by holes throughout, with some abrasion in places, and lacking the lower right corner; written on one side along the fibres, the back being blank. On the front, there are 13 lines occupying the upper half of the sheet; margins are extant, with no space having been left on the right. Folding lines are still visible. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Dimensions: 210 x 158 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 255 x 210 mm.
Script: Skilled, but somewhat inelegant and untidy cursive hand, same as Papyrus 1877 and Papyrus 1878.

Provenance: Tebtynis, meris of Polemon, Arsinoite nome, Egypt (?). Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1873-2016 from Ali Abd el Hari on 15 May 1911.
