P.C. No. 29 of 1896, from the High Court of Judicature for the North-Western Provinces, Allahabad: between Bijai Bahadur Singh and after his death Mussammat Sheo Nath Kunwari, his Widow and legal representative, and Ram Saran Singh, Appellants (Plaintiffs), and the Secretary of State for India in Council, (Defendant) Respondent (Defendant).
This appeal relates to the possession of an area of land originally owned by Chaudhri Bunyad Singh and then his widow, Thakoorain Rup Kunwar, before passing as an escheat to the Crown due to failure of heirs. The estate was then claimed twelve years later by Chaudhri Bisheshar Singh and his sons, but the case was dismissed. This decision was appealed to the Privy Council and dismissed again.
