Papyrus sheet, broken off at the bottom and complete on all other sides; with minor damage along a few vertical creases; with writing on both sides. On the front, there are 16 lines from the top of a column written along the fibres; upper and side margins are minimal. A sheet-join is visible a few millimetres from the right-hand edge. The back preserves very faded traces of one column across the fibres. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Dimensions: 149 x 127 mm; housed in a glass case measuring 200 x 180 mm.
Script: Large, somewhat irregular hand with a slight slant to the right, with a tendency to become more compressed and smaller towards the end.

Origin: Lykopolis (Assiut), Lycopolite nome, Egypt.
Provenance: Hermopolite nome (?), Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 885-1178 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 8 June 1901.
