Claims to the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division No.397 of 1892 and No.2526 of 1896: between Thomas Giles Pudan (Plaintiff), and the Secretary of State for India in Council (Defendant)
These claims relate to the dismissal of Mr Pudan from his role as a railway supervisor and the value of his pension. The claim of 1892 was for wrongful dismissal, and was settled by a payment of £1500. The claim of 1896 relates to the calculation of Mr Pudan’s pension. The court found in favour of the Defendant; a further appeal was made to the Royal Courts of Justice and dismissed.
These papers are a continuation of those within IOR/L/L/8/30-31. Some of the main documents are duplicated from the other boxes for ease of reference, but the majority of the material is unique.
