Letter to Zenon from Iason, reporting on various issues. Iason is under pressure because Zenon failed to make arrangements for the pasture-tax and the guard-tax; in addition, he informs Zenon about a sesame plantation he inspected, which is not growing well, and about a debt owed by Timocles. Papyrus sheet, medium-brown, of lighter colour at the bottom right; complete and well preserved; bearing writing on both sides. On the front, there are two columns written along the fibres, complete. All margins are extant. A sheet-join runs at 120 mm from the left-hand edge. On the back, there is 1 word written along the fibres at the bottom. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame, with a small opening for the text on the back.

Dimensions: 333 x 328 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 385 x 385 mm.
Script: Medium-sized, upright hand, with detached letters, occasionally compressed at the end of the lines; more cursive at the end of column two for the final greetings and the date; lines slightly uneven. Same hand as Papyrus 2095.

Provenance: Philadelpheia, meris of Herakleides, Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2078-2102 from Maurice Nahman (b. 1868, d. 1948) in April 1919.
