Fragment of a contract before six witnesses in duplicate form, whereby some labourers acknowledge receipt of money from Zenon as a payment for the clearing of brushwood land. The labourers have the right to occupy and defend the land, and they should return it clean within twenty-one days. Should they fail to do so, they shall pay the money back with interest, and Zenon or his representatives shall have the right of execution upon them and upon their property. With seal (TM Seal 814) and names on the back. Two more fragments are held in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

Fragment of the same papyrus as two other fragments in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, inventoried as CG 59182; light-brown, complete at the top and bottom; bearing writing on both sides. On the front, there are 12 lines written across the fibres, lacking beginning and ends. Upper and lower margins are extant. The original clay seal is still preserved. On the back, there are a few words written along the fibres. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Script: Rather irregular cursive hand with a slight slant to the right; with corrections and erasures.

Provenance: Philadelpheia, meris of Herakleides, Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2305-2434 from Dr Kondilios in July 1921.
