A body of 150 agricultural workers of Ammonias write to Colluthes, village scribe (komogrammateus), to inform him that they are being wronged by three judges, Nestus, Torrimas and Zenon, and claim to have been evicted from their lands. The farmers seek compensation. With original seal (TM Seal 937) at the end. Papyrus 2363 (P.Lond. VII 1980) is a duplicate.

Light-brown papyrus, with severe surface damage throughout, especially along a vertical strip on the left. On the front, there are 21 lines written along the fibres, some of which are damaged. On the back, there are traces of ink that probably are smudges or set-offs. The original clay seal is still preserved, with no device being visible. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Script: Practised cursive hand, similar to that of Papyrus 2363, but smaller.

Provenance: Philadelpheia, meris of Herakleides, Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2652-2721 from Dr. A. N. Kondilios in July 1925. Part of a joint purchase with the University of Michigan and Columbia University.
