Correspondents include Sir John Dalberg-Acton (stepson), Susan Harriet Pitt (niece), Edward Frederick Leveson Gower (brother).ff. 26-94: Letters originally in a packet entitled ‘1869’. Correspondents include Lady Georgiana Fullerton (sister), Sir John Dalberg-Acton (stepson), Edward Frederick Leveson Gower (brother), Lavaggi (nephew). Also includes draft ‘Proposal for Will’.ff. 95-114: Letters originally in a packet entitled ‘1871’. Correspondents include John Dalberg-Acton, 1st Baron Acton (stepson), Lady Holland (about a possible engagement between Marie Fox and Lord Bute), Marie Fox (Princess Aloysius Liechtenstein) and her husband (about her acceptance at the Austrian court) (dated 1872).ff. 115-125: Letters originally in a packet entitled ‘1873’. Also includes a printed letter of indication issued by bank to accompany circular notes, dated 22 September 1874, signed by Lord Granville (Lettre d’indication pour les billets de change circulaires de Messieurs Herries, Farquahar & Cie de Londres). ff. 167-220: Letters originally in a packet entitled ‘1875’. Correspondents include Edward Frederick Leveson Gower (brother), John Dalberg-Acton, 1st Baron Acton, Susan Oldfield (niece of Horace Pitt-Rivers, 6th Baron Rivers). Also includes two copies of a lease of the horse Rosicrucian for breeding purposes during the 1875 covering season, one of them signed.
