- Scope & Content:
- Fragmentary letter from Spondates to Zenon reporting on various business matters. The sycamore wood has been cut, and a man has been dispatched escorting the gooseherd who had taken five coots from him, three of which should still be demanded; some goods have been dispatched, and the order that whoever wishes to pull flax should present himself to Spondates has been given. A decision still has to be made as to whether these shall receive money or flax as a payment. The end of the address is on the back. P.Cair.Zen. III 59510 is another fragment of the same letter.

- Right-hand portion of a light-brown papyrus, the left-hand part of which is in Cairo, Egyptian Museum, inventoried as CG 59510; imperfect on the right and lacking the lower right corner; with some holes throughout; bearing writing on both sides. On the front, there are 7 lines written across the fibres; upper and lower margins survive. The back bears the end of one word written along the fibres the other way up in relation to the text on the front. Some traces of ink are also visible at the bottom. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Provenance: Philadelpheia, meris of Herakleides, Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2652-2721 from Dr A. N. Kondilios in July 1925. Part of a joint purchase with the University of Michigan and Columbia University.
