Provenance: Oxyrhynchus, Oxyrhynchite nome, Egypt. From the excavations of William Matthew Flinders Petrie (b. 1853, d. 1942) at Oxyrhynchus in 1922; purchased by the British Museum in 1922 and transferred from the Department of Greek and Roman Antiquities to the Department of Manuscripts in July 1968.
