- Scope & Content:
- Letter of Toubias, head of the Toubiad family, to Apollonius, finance minister of Egypt, informing him about the gifts he has dispatched, a eunuch and four boy slaves, aged from 7 to 10, two of whom are uncircumsided. The descriptions are appended. P.Cair.Zen. I 59076 preserves the rest of the letter and the address and docket on the back.

- Right-hand portion of a medium-brown papyrus sheet, the right hand portion of which is a papyrus now in Cairo (Egyptian Museum CG 59076); well preserved, with some holes in the upper part; written on one side, with the back blank. On the front, there are the ends of 7 lines written across the fibres, under which are two short columns of 6 and 7 lines respectively. Upper, right and lower margins are minimal. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Materials: Papyrus.
Dimensions: 220 x 150 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 270 x 205 mm.
Script: Competent, thin, upright hand, somewhat irregular size, with some rather large letterforms; some uprights extend above and below the writing line; smaller and more cursive hand in the greetings and date and in the columns at the bottom.

Origin: Palestina.
Provenance: Philadelpheia, meris of Herakleides, Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2652-2721 from Dr. A. N. Kondilios in July 1925. Part of a joint purchase with Michigan and Columbia University.
