The manuscript consists of the service, biography and eulogy to st. Alexander Svirski. Alexander Svirski (1448-1533) is a saint of the Russian Orthodox church, he was canonised in 1547. His Life was written by his follower Herodion Kochnev. He is one of the most hallowed saints of the Russian North. St. Alexander Svirski is a founder of the Trinity Alexandero-Svirski monastery (in the Leningrad region now). The manuscript could be written in the Alexandero-Svirski monastery, in 1660 sent from the monastery to the Hergozersk hermitage (on the territory of the Kargopol area of the Arkhangelsk region now) and then passed to the Saviour's monastery in Kargopol. The Old Russian tradition manuscript was kept by old believers.

Рукопись включает Житие, службу и похвальное слово Александру Свирскому. Александр Свирский (1448-1533) - святой Русской Православной церкви, он был прославлен в 1547 году. Житие написано его учеником Иродионом Кочневым. Является одним из наиболее почитаемых святых Русского Севера. Основатель Троицкого Александрова Свирского монастыря (современная территория Ленинградской области). Вероятнее всего, рукопись была написана в Александро-Свирском монастыре, в 1660 г. прислана оттуда в Хергозерскую пустынь (нынешняя территория Каргопольского района Архангельской области), оказалась позднее в Спасском монастыре, г. Каргополь. Рукопись древнерусской традиции, вероятно, хранившаяся старообрядцами.

Extent: 1 volume containing 156 + II folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: Height 19,4 cm, width 15,3 cm.

Condition of original material: The manuscript was restored. Original binding is lost. Modern one is covered with leather-cloth. Folios are pasted up.

Custodial history: The manuscript was collected during the archeographical expedition to the Kargopol region in 1965.
