John Chrysostom was an archbishop of Constantinople and an author of numerous works. Homilies and writings of John Chrysostom were often included in Old believers’ miscellanea. Homilia against Jews is a part of collected homilies Margarit which was very popular among Old believers. This manuscript of the second half of the 17th century contains a fragment of the Homilia against Jews without the beginning and the end. There is an Old believers' handwritten Margarit of the second part of the 18th century in the Kargopol collection (Kargopol 99) also.
Иоанн Златоуст архиепископ Константинопольский, один из Отцов Церкви, автор многочисленных сочинений. Слова и выписки из его произведений часто можно встретить в старообрядческих сборниках. Слово на иудеев входит в состав гомилетического сборника «Маргарит», который пользовался популярностью у старообрядцев. Данная рукопись является отрывком слова Иоанна Златоуста на иудеев без начала и конца. В составе Каргопольского собрания хранится переписанный старообрядцами список Маргарита второй половины XVIII века (Карг. 99).
Extent: 1 volume containing 24 folios.
Size and dimensions of original material: Height 16 cm, width 10 cm, depth 0,5 cm.
Condition of original material: The beginning and the end of the manuscript is lost. There were 13 lost folios in the beginning. The bindig was lost. Now the book has restoration binding made of cardboard and leather-cloth.
Custodial history: The manuscript was collected during the archeographical expedition to the Kargopol region in 1965.
