Everyday reading of Psalterion according to kathismas has a particular significance for commemoration of deceaseds during 40 days after their death. Kathisma 17 has the most significance as it is intended for reading on the most important commemorational days: the third, the ninth and the fortieth days after death. It may be read in other days in praying about deceaseds indeed. So this manuscript was necessary for domestic praying about deceaseds. The manuscript is dated by the middle of the 19th century as it has a paper stamp "N.P / UBF", which means "Heirs of Popov / Uglich Paper Mill". The manuscript is connected with Ploes region of Arkhangelsk district.
