Menaion is an orthodox liturgical book containing church divine services to Saints arranged according to the days of liturgical year. This manuscript includes services for selected feasts, not for every day. It belongs to Old Russian tradition. It was written in the first quarter of the 16th century but then it was kept and used by Old believers. The manuscript was bought in 1967 in Ploes region of Arkhangelsk province.

Минея - православная богослужебная книга с текстами церковных служб святым, расположенными по месяцам и дням года. Данная рукопись относится к древнерусской традиции. Она включает службы на избранные праздники, а не на каждый день. Она была написана в первой четверти XVI века, но впоследствии хранилась и использовалась старообрядцами. В рукописи утрачен один лист, от которого сохранился только небольшой фрагмент (л. 27а); два листа поставлены неправильно при переплетении. Правильный порядок листов: л. 1-25 об., 27а, 27 об., 27, 26, 26 об., 28-311 об. Рукопись была куплена в 1967 г. в Плесецком районе Архангельской области.

Extent: 1 volume containing 311 folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: Height 20,5 cm, width 13,5 cm, depth 8 cm.

Condition of original material: There is one lost sheet (f. 27a), some sheets were put wrong in the process of binding, so the right sequence of the sheets is such: f. 1r-25v, 27а, 27v, 27r, 26r, 26v, 28r-311v. The manuscript has an old binding but a leather on the spine is torn and an upper board is curved strongly.

Custodial history: The manuscript was collected during the archeographical expedition to the Old believers in Ploes region of Archangelsk province in 1967.
