Index of prayers for all-night vigil
Posledovanie molitv vsenoschnoj sluzhby
- Scope & Content:
-
There are incipits of prayers of the all-night vigil in the manuscript. Old Believers often knew the whole texts of the prayers by heart. The folios are sewn by rough thread so they are not a part of the great codex, but they were used independently for private praying only for the all-night vigil. The last folio has a note of owner (f. 8v): "A scribe is Gavrilo Melyushin. Instead of Ivan Sergeev by his request a peasant Gavrilo Melyushin had a hand to this written text". It is obvious that a scribe peasant Gavrilo Melyushin wrote the manuscript on request of Ivan Sergeev.
