Menaion is an orthodox liturgical book contains church divine services to Saints, arranged according to days of liturgical year. This manuscript belongs to Old Russian tradition. It was written in the 16th century but then it was kept and used by Old Believers. This fragment of Menaion contains two divine services on the 2nd of May: service to Princes Boris and Gleb with two canons (ff. 1r-3v, the beginning and the end of the text are absent); and service to Athanasius the Great (ff. 4r-6v, the beginning and the end of the text are absent too).
Минея - православная богослужебная книга с текстами церковных служб святым, расположенными по месяцам и дням года. Данная рукопись относится к древнерусской традиции. Она была написана в XVI веке, но впоследствии хранилась и использовалась старообрядцами. Данный фрагмент Минеи содержит две службы на 2 мая: службу князьям Борису и Глебу с двумя канонами (л. 1-3 об., начало и конец утрачены); и службу Афанасию Великому (л. 4-6 об., начало и конец также утрачены).
Extent: 6 folios folded together.
Size and dimensions of original material: Height 20 cm, width 14,5 cm.
Condition of original material: It is a part of lost book without binding. The folios are not sewn together. Two folios are absent between ff. 3 and 4.
Custodial history: The manuscript was collected during the archeographical expedition to the Kargopol region in 1980.
