Prayer to Saint Sisinius against triasovits (fever)
Molitva sviatomu Sisiniiu ot triasovits
- Scope & Content:
-
A prayer to Saint Sisinius whom some people believed to be able to help a sick man suffered from fever. In Old Russia it was believed that the cause of fever were severe Triasovits who were sisters-daimons according to Slavonic legends. Old believers kept this faith. The prayer was written in the middle of the 20th century on the sheet from the school copy-book. The end of the text is missed. This variant of the text is not included in the most complete publication of prayers to Saint Sisinius which was edited by Mathew Sokolov.
