- Four fragments of a medium-brown papyrus sheet, bearing writing on one side along the fibres; the back is blank. There survive 35 lines, almost complete on the right, but lacking the beginnings, with c. 30 letters missing. Parts of the upper, right and lower fragments survive. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Dimensions: Fr. 1: 35 x 69 mm; fr. 2: 80 x 135 mm; fr. 3: 191 x 140 mm; fr. 4: 88 x 142 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 450 x 205 mm.
Script: Proficient upright cursive hand; different hand for the subscription of Phib, a ‘slow-writer’, in lines 25-26.

Provenance: Antaiopolite, Hermopolite or Antinoite nome (?), Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2784-2849 as share from a joint purchase arranged with the University of Michigan, Yale University, Princeton University, Columbia University, and Wilfred Merton (b. 1888, d. 1957) from various dealers in November and December 1926. Papyri 2823-2849 were purchased from Maurice Nahman (b. 1868, d. 1948).
