- Scope & Content:
- The shepherd Aurelius Besis, son of Phoebammon and Tabes, acknowledges that he has leased from Aurelius Phoebammon, son of Triadelphus, and Aurelius Victor, son of Colluthus, the share of a farm belonging to them for a period of three years. Provisions concerning the lease follow. The subscriptions of Besis (written by someone else), of a witness and of the notary Hermauos are at the end.

- Dark-brown papyrus sheet, lacking the upper right corner; bearing writing on one side. On the front, there are 26 lines written across the fibres; the upper margin is wide, the others are minimal. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame, pasted onto a sheet containing the translation of a Coptic letter.

Provenance: Aphrodito, Egypt. Purchased at Sotheby’s Sale of Antiquities, lot 124, in December 1975. Formerly part of the private collection of Georges Anastase Michaelides (b. 1900, d. 1973), antiquities dealer in Cairo, sold by his heirs after his death.
