Left papyrus (A) (P.Michael. 8, TM 21401): Conclusion of a document, with subscription of Dionysius alias Valerius and dating clause. Dated to 23 October 48.
Right papyrus (B) (P.Michael. 7, TM 5246): Letter of Lysimachus to Sosius, approving of a payment of 40 bronze drachmas made by the recipient to Adminius. The address is on the back. Dated to 11 April 147 BC or 8 April 136 BC.

Two papyrus fragments that do not belong together, housed in the same glass frame.
Left papyrus (A): Lower left corner of a light-brown papyrus sheet, with writing on one side; the back is blank. On the front, there are the beginnings of 12 lines written along the fibres, the first six of which are abraded. Left and lower margins are extant.
Right papyrus (B): Dark-brown sheet, complete, imperfect at the bottom; with writing on both sides. On the front, there are 9 lines written along the fibres; upper and side margins are minimal, the lower is wide. Folding lines are still visible. On the back, there is a word written across the fibres, the other way up in relation to the text on the front.

Materials: Papyrus.
Dimensions: A: 90 x 75 mm; B: 105 x 50 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 185 x 185 mm.
Script: A: Rather unskilled hand with no ligatures, with letterforms resembling the contemporary literary hands; smaller and cursive hand at the end of line 6; B: Medium-sized, square and overall upright hand, with no ligatures.

Origin: Egypt.
Provenance: Egypt. Acquired with other Michaelides material, including Papyri 3100-3131, in April 1979 and transferred from the Department of Oriental Manuscripts and Printed Books in May 1979. Formerly part of the private collection of Georges Anastase Michaelides (b. 1900, d. 1973), antiquities dealer in Cairo, sold by his heirs after his death, under the inventory numbers 1311 and 1451.
