This volume contains details of cases heard at the Police Office at Freetown by the Police Magistrate between 29 July 1867 and 15 June 1868. The first pages of the document consist of an index that lists all the cases alphabetically by name of the defendant and provides details of the offence. The document includes a transcript of what was said at the Police Office by the Police Magistrate, the plaintiff and the defendant as well as by some witnesses and is signed by them. Cases range from rape to larceny. The volume is bound in blue cloth boards. The paper is brittle. There is extensive water damage and damage from iron gall.
