This volume contains cases heard at the Police Office in Freetown by the Police Magistrate between 22 June 1868 and 6 April 1869. The first pages of the document consist of an index that lists all the cases alphabetically by name of the defendant, and provides information on the offence and the page number where the case can be found in the document. The record of cases includes a transcript of what was said at the Police Office by the Police Magistrate, the plaintiff and the defendant as well as by some witnesses. The volume is bound in blue cloth boards. There is extensive water damage and damage from iron gall.
