This volume contains letters written by the Governor of Sierra Leone between 20 September 1847 and 27 October 1848. Each letter written by the governor includes the date and the place where it was written, the number of the despatch, and the signature of the sender. Some pages consist of a schedule of despatches sent on a specific date and provide information on the number of the despatch, its date, the subject and on the number of enclosures. The volume is tightly bound in red cloth boards. The paper is brittle, and some pages are torn. There is extensive damage from iron gall.
