This volume contains letters written by the Lieutenant Governor of Sierra Leone between 7 February and 30 June 1857. Each despatch in the volume includes the date and place it was written, the number of the despatch, and the signature of the sender. The length of a despatch varies from one paragraph to several pages. The volume is bound in red cloth boards. The binding is loose, and there are some traces of damage from iron gall.
