This volume contains letters written by the Governor-in-Chief of the British West Africa Settlements between 13 July 1878 and 27 July 1880. Despatches include information on the date and the place where it was written, the number of the despatch, the name of the recipient, and the signature of the sender. The length of a despatch varies from one paragraph to several pages. The volume is bound in blue cloth boards. There are some traces of water damage. Some pages are breaking away from the binding, others are torn and the edges of some pages are damaged.
