This volume contains letters written by the Colonial Secretary of Sierra Leone between 1 August 1879 and 31 December 1880. It includes an index that alphabetically lists the letters by name of the recipient, and provides the subject, the page number in the volume, and the number of the circular. The letters included in the volume are addressed to members of the colonial administration as well as merchants. The volume is bound in red cloth boards. There is damage from water and from iron gall in the volume. There are also some traces of mould.
