The volume contains minutes of cases heard by the Police Magistrate in the Court of Requests for Freetown between 22 March 1884 and 5 September 1885. The first 49 pages consist of an index of cases with the number of the summons, the names of plaintiffs and defendants as well as page numbers to the minutes. The document provides information on whether the individuals involved appeared, on the statements they provided and on the outcome of the case. The volume is bound in blue cloth boards, which have been damaged by water. There is damage from iron gall in the volume.
