This volume contains letters received by the Governor of Sierra Leone from the Secretary and Under-Secretary of State for War and the Colonies between 21 January 1822 and 20 October 1823. The correspondence relates to military, territorial, and commercial affairs in West Africa. The broken spine and damaged binding mean that a large number of pages are loose. There is extensive water damage, and some traces of iron gall in the volume. The paper is brittle, and some of the edges of paper are breaking away.
