- Scope & Content:
- Copy of the deed of sale by Onnophris, son of Horus and Senpoeris, to his brother Horus (father of Osoroeris), both choachytai (mortuary priests responsible for libations and food-offerings to the dead), of a share of religious services, including mummies and the rights to look after them. The list of the mummies is given, followed by the names of sixteen witnesses. There follows the copy of the receipt of the banker Lysimachus, acknowledging the payment of the tax on sales. The text is a translation of the demotic contract preserved in a Berlin papyrus (inv. no. 3119), published as UPZ II 175b.

Medium-brown papyrus, complete and well preserved, with some surface damage along the vertical folds on the left-hand side; the writing runs on one side, and the back is blank. On the front, there are two columns of 30 and 14 lines respectively; margins are extant; a sheet-join runs down the centre. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Dimensions: 310 x 450 mmò housed in a glass frame measuring 360 x 510 mm.
Script: Small, regular and proficient cursive hand; lines tend to incline upwards.

Origin: Dios Polis (Thebest East), Egypt.
Provenance: Memnoneia, Djeme (Thebes West)?, Egypt. Allegedly, found in a jar in a tomb. Purchased from the Reverend George Francis Grey (b. 1794, d. 1854) in 1823, who had acquired the papyrus in January 1820.
