- Scope & Content:
- Dioscorous, daughter of Hierax, citizen of Alexandria, acting with her guardian, acknowledges repayment of a sum of money that Diogenes had borrowed from her, with the services of Pasistilla alias Kouneinis, slave of Marcus Aurelius Diogenes, provided in place of the interest on the money. Dioscorous renounces to all claims in the future. The documentation concerning Dioscorous’ application for a guardian is appended.

- Medium-brown papyrus sheet, damaged along the vertical folds, especially on the right, and with some insect holes; with writing on one side, the back being blank. On the front, there are 27 lines written along the fibres; all margins are extant, the right being minimal. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Script: Neat and competent upright cursive hand, occasionally compressed at the ends of the lines.

Provenance: Philadelpheia, meris of Herakleides, Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2486-2542 from Maurice Nahman (b. 1868, d. 1948) in September 1922. Part of a joint purchase with the University of Michigan and Cornell University.
