- Scope & Content:
- Fragment of an order of the governor Qurrah ben Sharik in Arabic and Greek, addressed to the inhabitants of Aphrodito. The recipients are asked to supply four skilled workmen to repair ships in Babylon. Details of the salaries are included. Dated in October or November. The rest of the document is now in Heidelberg, under the inventories PSR 14 and 19(g).

- Right-hand portion of a papyrus sheet, further fragments of which are now in Heidelberg (PSR 14 and 19g); written on one side across the fibres, the back being blank. On the front, there are parts of 10 lines running across the fibres in Arabic and Greek. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Script: Greek text: Neat, upright cursive hand of the minuscule type.

Origin: Egypt.
Provenance: Aphrodito, Antaiopolite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1200-1520 from Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 20 November 1903. The fragment inventoried as Or 6235(17), bearing Arabic lines at the top and two Greek lines, has been transferred from the Oriental Department of the British Museum.
