Two leases between Flavius Dioscorus, son of Apollos, and the shepherd Aurelius Georgius, son of Psais.
Column 1: Georgius acknowledges that he has leased some land from Dioscorus for one year. With subscriptions of the lessee (written by someone else as he is illiterate), of a witness and of the notary Hermauos. Dated 3 May 555.
Column 2: Renewal of the same lease for the following year, with the addition of another plot of land. With subscriptions of the lessee (written by someone else as he is illiterate), four witnesses and of the notary Hermauos; presumably dated 3 May 556.

- Medium-to-dark brown papyrus, damaged along the vertical folds; written on one side along the fibres. The back is blank. On the front, there are two columns of 24 and 26 lines respectively. Upper and lower margins are extant, the left margin partly survives. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Script: Proficient, rather compressed sloping cursive hand, with different hands for the subscriptions in both columns.

Provenance: Aphrodito (Kom Ishgau), Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1545-1753 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 8 December 1906.
