Upper papyrus (A) (P.Lond. III 909(a), TM 11810): Sale of a red male camel, still a foal, for 600 drachmas. The seller is Anchorimphis, of the village of Dionysias, and the buyer Ptolemaeus, from the metropolis (Arsinoe). Dated 1 July 136.
Lower papyrus (B) (P.Lond. III 909(b), TM 11811): Receipt for payment on account of the poll tax of the Arsinoite privileged rate amounting to 20 drachmas and 10 obols as surcharges, issued to Areius, son of Onnophris, by a tax collector of a quarter of Arsinoe. Dated 143-144.

Two papyrus sheets that do not belong together, mounted on cardboard in the same glass frame.
Upper papyrus (A): Light-to-medium-brown papyrus sheet, complete, with some surface damage; written on one side along the fibres. The back is blank; on the front, there are 12 lines written along the fibres; all margins are extant.
Lower papyrus (B): Light-to-medium-brown papyrus sheet, complete, with some surface damage; written on one side along the fibres. The back is blank; on the front, there are 8 lines written along the fibres; all margins are extant.

Script: A: Rather irregular, straggling hand, ligatured in places; B: Small, rapid cursive hand.

Provenance: Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 885-1178 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 8 June 1901.
