Upper papyrus (A) (P.Bingen 129, P.Lond. V 1797, TM 19768): Fragment of a contract, addressed to a lawyer (scholasticus) from a singularis, an officer on the staff of the governor of the province of Arcadia. Possibly dated 10 July 501.
Lower papyrus (B) (SB XXVIII 16969, P.Lond. V 1876 descr., TM 35263): Fragment of a lease of an artificially irrigated plot of land, the landowner possibly being Flavius Apphous, son of the late Flavius Eulogius; with endorsement on the back. Dated to 498-499 or 513-514.

Two papyrus fragments that do not belong together, housed in the same glass frame.
Upper papyrus (A): Medium-brown papyrus fragment, broken off at the bottom and left, complete at the top and right; written on one side along the fibres; the front bears the ends of 12 lines. The upper margin is extant, no margin was left to the right.
Lower papyrus (B): Medium-brown papyrus fragment, darker at the top, broken off at the top, bottom and right, complete on the left; written on both sides. On the front, there are the beginnings of 10 lines written along the fibres, with traces of another line at the bottom. The left margin is extant. On the back, there is a portion of one line written along the fibres.

Provenance: Oxyrhynchus, Oxyrhynchite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1545-1753 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 8 December 1906.
