Upper papyrus (A) (P.Lond. V 1802, TM 36954): Order from the tribune Iob to Andreas, son of Georgius, to pay 5,000 talents as rent of a courtyard, signed by Demeas. Dated 19 June, 10th indiction.
Lower papyrus (B) (P.Lond. V 1877 descr., TM 36982): Fragmentary acknowledgment of a lease of part of a building with a well; the back bears the endorsement. Dated 7 August, 3rd indiction.

Two papyrus sheets that do not belong together, housed in the same glass frame.
Upper papyrus (A): Medium-brown papyrus sheet, complete, with some damage in places; written on one side. The front bears 7 lines running across the fibres; the back may have been used for writing, later washed off. Folding lines are still visible.
Lower papyrus (B): Medium-brown papyrus sheet, broken off at the bottom and top, complete on the sides, damaged by insect-holes; written on both sides. The front bears portions of 11 lines running along the fibres; side margins are minimal. The back contains one fragmentary line written along the fibres.

Script: A: Upright cursive hand; different hand for the subscription in the last two lines. B: Straggling, sloping cursive hand.

Provenance: A: Egypt. B: Hermopolis (El-Ashmunein), Hermopolite nome, Egypt. Both papyri were purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1545-1753 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 8 December 1906.
