Miscellaneous Ptolemaic Texts (P.Lond. III 686 descr., TM 278-279, 269, 286, 613, 655)
- Scope & Content:
-
Lower left papyrus (D) (SB XVIII 13847, TM 279): Conclusion of a loan, with subscription of the notary at the end. Dated between 114 and 97 BC.
Small fragment to the right (E) (P.Dryton 39, TM 269): Small fragment belonging to Papyrus 641, containing an account recording expenses or receipts of money for the purchase or sale of various items. Dated 137-136 BC.
Second papyrus from the bottom left (F) (P.Dryton 31, TM 286): Fragment of the same papyrus as Papyrus 687(B), a papyrus in the John Rylands Library inventoried as no. 67, and a papyrus in Heidelberg, inventoried as 1301. They are part of a petition, presumably by Dryton, addressed to the Hermias, the financial official (epimeletes), concerning some financial matter involving a big sum of money due, and the purchase of some plots by Esthladas, son of Dryton. The petition was preceded by another text, of which only one line remains, presumably a bank receipt, in which the property sold was described. Dated between 140 and 130 BC.
Other fragments (A-C, G-H): Fragments from Ptolemaic documents, unpublished.
