Anonymous treatise on the use of the astrolabe quadrant. This short manual was written for beginners and consists of an introduction and ten chapters (faṣl).
The copy was completed on 22 Jumādá I 1070/4 February 1660 by the scribe ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Zayn al-Dīn al-ʿĀmilī (علي بن محمد بن الحسن بن زين الدين العاملي, see colophon, f. 137v, lines 3-4 transcribed below). Next to the colophon the reading certificate of Zayn al-Dīn ibn ʿAlī ibn Aḥmad (زين الدين بن علي بن أحمد) dated 16 Jumādá I 960/30 April 1553, has been copied from the source manuscript (بخط جدي, f. 137v, fore edge margin).

فهذه رسالة في العمل بالربع المرسوم بالمقنطرات وصنعتها للمبتدى طريقًّا

واذا وسط الكوكب ليلًا...
فألق مطالع الغروب من مطالعه فالباقي هو الماضي في الليل عند توسطه وأن ألقيت
مطالعه في مطالع الشروق حصل الباقي في الليل وكذا تعمل بمطالع طلوعه ومطالع
غروبه والله أعلم
