Text in romanised Japanesethroughout, without kanji or kana. 24-25 lines to page, plus running titleabove: QINCVXV + page no.
Edition: The only known printedversion of this work. A number of manuscript versions exist, the earliest beingwritten in 1520 titled Kinbōshū 金榜集.
Contents: A selection of 282maxims and moral dicta, chiefly taken from Chinese Confucian classics(including Shisho 四書 and Shichisho 七書 see Xixo andXixxo in title), arranged in alphabetical order and followed by explanatorycomments in romanised colloquial Japanese of the 16th century. Text of theKinkushū is followed by 42 unnumbered pages containing a printed glossary of'difficult' words in Feiqe no monogatari and Esopo no fabvlas, as noted underDescription above. This in turn is followed by a handwritten Japanese-Portuguesevocabulary. On p. 554, headed GOIO. / IIN, GVI, REI, CHI, XIN, is a briefexplanation of five terms used in Confucian philosophy: 仁, 義, 礼, 智, 信.

Binding: The whole book was rebound in 1928, in brown half-leather. Original binding no longer survives. Text printed on ganpi paper, folded in-octavo.
