A narrative thangka illustrating the story of Dharam King Mitra (Wylie chos rgyal mi tra). Size including the cloth surround 134 x 90 cm. Image (melong) size 84 x 67cm. Central figure of Avalokiteśvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, known to Tibetans as Chenrezig (Wylie spyan ras gzigs ).. Creation dates: Mid 19th Century. Date suggested by the owner.
Custodial history: An old thangka handed down within his family, perhaps from the time of his great grandfather, the first performer in his lineage.
Extent and format of original material: One narrative scroll painting / thangka.
