Excerpts from The Introduction to the Science of the Stars (المدخل في علم النجوم) by Nūr al-Dīn Abū al-Qāsim ʻAlī ibn Aḥmad al-Balkhī (نور الدين أبو القاسم علي بن أحمد البلخي, fl. ca 900). The source of the excerpts is identified at f. 162r, line 1 ('from al-Balkhī's Book of the Introduction', من كتاب مدخل البلخي) and again at the beginning of the following quire on f. 172r, line 1 ('from Abū al-Qāsim ʻAlī ibn Aḥmad al-Balkhī's Introduction', من مدخل أبو [!] القاسم علي ابن أحمد البلخي).

This text is numbered 17 (يز) in the present collection.

The copy is defective at end with an unknown number of folios missing after f. 184v.
